EMEA: Paul Dalgleish has been named as Hyatt’s vice president of revenue, sales, distribution and learning for Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Southwest Asia regions.

Dalgleish brings over 25 years of experience to the role, many of which were spent with Marriott International’s commercial operation in the Middle East and Africa.

He will focus on growing Hyatt’s brand portfolio whilst supporting customers in driving recovery.

“I’ve always been a people person, someone who enjoys building genuine, long-lasting relationships with the people I work with, so Hyatt felt like a natural fit for me,” Dalgleish said, “a company that truly puts the care of its colleagues, guests and hotel owners above all else, so that they can be their best. Another thing that really struck me about the business was its focus on being the preferred hotel brand, rather than the biggest.

“Hyatt takes the time to understand exactly what its customers need to succeed and how it can use its own scale and innovation to make this happen. This ethos has really shone through in the last 14 months and I was very impressed by how quickly the business changed gear and adapted to the pandemic. I’m keen to play my part in this continued recovery for the industry, and when the world is ready and able to travel again, I want Hyatt and our people to be at the forefront of their minds."

Geneviève Materne, SVP of commercial services for Europe, Middle East, Southwest Asia, added: “We’re so excited to welcome Paul to the Hyatt family at what is a very significant time for the business and industry. Getting under the skin of what our customers need and building personalised experiences for our guests is our heartland – so Paul’s clear passion for people and learning what experiences are meaningful to them makes him a perfect match for our business.

“Paul is a recognised expert in the hospitality space, and his skills and experience will be hugely valuable as we look to grow our brands in some of the most sought-after destinations across EAME/SWA. We have a host of exciting new openings and developments coming up and we’re really looking forward to seeing what Paul will bring to the team.”
