US: Washington DC property set to be latest in Capella portfolio.

Capella Hotels and Resorts is the creation of Ritz-Carlton co-founder Horst Schulze, who is in the finishing stages of creating the 49-room Capella Washington DC.

The property is in the Georgetown neighbourhood, near the Ritz-Carlton and on the banks of the C&O Canal.

The property will feature a guest-only rooftop with infinity pool, sundeck and lounge with panoramic views, as well as a lounge, fine dining and a "personal assistant" for guests.

Capella also has hotels in Mexico (2), Germany and Singapore, with 2014 openings scheduled for Thailand, Japan and Mexico.
