Australia: Boutique hotel brand Peppers, has announced a comprehensive national food and wine program called the Peppers Gourmet Food Trail.

The initiative is "a series of events, packages and gourmet offerings throughout the Peppers network of 23 retreats, resorts and hotels across Australia, incorporating the expertise of their chefs and the local produce of the region and partnering with celebrated wine critic, Nick Stock".

It follows a partnership with TV show MasterChef in 2011.

Peppers director of marketing Ken Minnikin said: "We have some exceptional talent with our chefs in the Peppers network, and properties situated in some of the finest food and wine regions in Australia, so we wanted to continue that journey we started with MasterChef and profile Peppers as the hotel brand of choice for food lovers who look to combine great dining with their travel experiences."

Chefs in the brand's 23 hotels were invited to submit menu and event ideas to be incorporated into the Peppers Gourmet Food Trail program.

National food & beverage director Scott Robertson said: "The Peppers Food Trail is literally a very 'organic' program of events devised by our Chefs out in the network who work with the produce and develop menus with wines to complement on a daily basis. It made sense to gather the knowledge from the network to come up with a true celebration of all things gourmet in some of Australia's finest food and wine regions."

The first event - 'In Season in the Tropics' - will take place at Peppers Beach Club & Spa Palm Cove on 10 and 11 August, hosted by Nick Stock, with future events scheduled at Peppers properties across Australia including the Hunter Valley and Southern Highlands in New South Wales; Port Douglas, Palm Cove, Airlie Beach and Magnetic Island in Queensland; Daylesford, Mornington Peninsula and Mount Hotham ski fields in Victoria; and Cradle Mountain in Tasmania.
