UK: The first ‘Hoteliers - Battered But Not Beaten’ series of events, hosted by the Master Innholders, will see the UK’s Secretary of State of Education interviewed on the future of hospitality careers.

Taking place on 18 March 2021 at 3pm GMT, Gavin Williamson, the Secretary of State of Education, will be interview by guest host Kate Nicholls OBE.

The conversation will focus on how the industry can encourage young people, parents and schools to think about hospitality as a viable career, and how businesses can get involved with the government’s ‘flexi-job’ apprenticeship scheme.

Registration for the virtual event is free and open to all hotel professionals, regardless of location, role, experience or property size.

David Morgan-Hewitt FIH MI, chairman of the Master Innholders, said: “I am thrilled that the ‘Hoteliers – Battered But Not Beaten’ programme is kicking off with a welcome from a very special guest and what is set to be a very insightful discussion with our Secretary of State of Education, Gavin Williamson. Throughout this programme we aim to highlight our incredible industry and how we can continue to rise to the challenges we are facing to come out even stronger and more resilient than before.”

The full programme of events will see industry speakers and specialists host online sessions and interviews discussing the future of hospitality.

Further information and registration details are available here.
