US: #FirstRespondersFirst, an initiative centred around supporting frontline healthcare workers, have made a partnership with InterContintental Hotel Group.

The global hotel group will allow first responders to stay at their nearby hotels free of charge as well as providing them with a unique VIP reservation service.

#FirstRespondersFirst is a cooperative initiative between the Harvard School of Public Health, Thrive Global and the CAA Foundation. The initiative has already partnered with a wide variety of additional companies, including Cisco, Marriott International and Modelo.

Arianna Huffington, Thrive Global CEO said: "It is critical that we support our frontline workers as they are serving our country with courage and selflessness. They're caring for us, so we must help take care of them."

“That's why we are raising funds for essential resources, including child care, food, and accommodation, for first responders and their families."

The group is providing a variety of essential services, such as protective equipment, accommodation, childcare, food and other resources. The group is helping to provide many of Harvard School of Public Health’s fact based resources to those on the front lines.

Keith Barr, IHG CEO said: "As communities around the world respond to COVID-19, we're honoured and privileged to play our part and help those who are taking care of our loved ones and neighbours. #FirstRespondersFirst is unique because it addresses the broad needs of this critical group of people and being part of a bigger solution is how we think about the support we provide communities.”

Hotels around the world are banding together to support medical workers in this time. Farncombe Estate is offering a unique set of rewards to NHS workers, while Claridge’s of London has committed to housing as many medical workers as possible.
