Germany: The Hotel Indigo Dusseldorf-Victoriaplatz, the third German property under IHG's lifestyle flag, is set to open in 2013.

It follows two openings in Berlin earlier this year, and will operate under a franchise agreement with LFPI Hotels Management Germany GmbH. The 126-room property is a conversion from the Lindner Rhein Residence into a Hotel Indigo.

The hotels located on the Kaiserswerther Strasse in the lively Pempelfort district, which is known for its bars and restaurants.

IHG's development director for Germany, René Schappner, said: "Dusseldorf is an international business and financial centre, known for its trade and fashion fairs. The city is also known for its cultural offerings, including the Academy of Art and the NRW-Forum in art, architecture and design."

"Dusseldorf doesn't have many boutique hotels, so it's a great opportunity to introduce Hotel Indigo. Each hotel is uniquely designed to reflect the community, character and history of its surrounding area. Hotel Indigo Düsseldorf-Victoriaplatz's design will be inspired by the numerous fashion stores and showrooms around Dusseldorf's Fashion House and the Kaiserswerther Strasse," added Schappner.
