UK: Dorking hotel to reopen after remodel

The White Horse in Dorking is set to debut its new dining concept, The Dozen, alongside expanded accommodation as part of a £4 million investment by Bespoke Hotels.

The Dozen will offer all-day dining, from freshly ground coffee and baked goods in the morning, to cocktails at night. Designed by Squid Inc, creators of Manchester's 5-star Hotel Gotham, the hotel's Dozen concept will combine cosy touches with sleek charm.

Head Chef Gavin Chilcott will be at the helm in the kitchen, with 20 years' experience across the UK serving up British classics and French pastries. The menu will offer a range of classic British dishes with an emphasis on local Surrey produce, including cheese and meat from the surrounding area, as well as wines, gins from nearby vineyards and distilleries. In collaboration with the Dorking Butchery, The Dozen will launch their very own Dozen Sausage to celebrate the opening of the new dining concept.

a fresh new look across the hotel's 56 bedrooms and suites, with room types ranging from cosy, spacious and indulgent rooms to decedent one-bedroom suites for maximum pampering, all of which are being beautifully enhanced to breathe new life into this historic hotel, combining style and substance with affordability.
