US: Braemar Hotels & Resorts have announced a new Autograph Collection property scheduled to open in downtown Philadelphia this week.

The 100-year-old City Hall Annex building will be home to the new 499-bedroom, The Notary Hotel.

Its name derived from the building's history - originally, where Philadelphians visited to get official documents notarised.

Costing an excess of $20 million to rebrand and renovate, the design was led by Premier Project Management. Key features include marble floors, chandeliers, and decorative bronze molding.

It also includes 11,000 square feet of conference space across 12 event rooms, along with the 3,000 square foot Junipers Ballroom.

The new on-site tapas restaurant, Sabroso, highlights traditional Spanish dishes and will serve a variety of craft beer, wines, and cocktails.

Similarly, the on-site coffee house, Sorbo, is in partnership with speciality coffee roaster, La Colombe. These dining areas will occupy the first floor of The Notary Hotel.
