UK: Owned by YTL Hotels, The Gainsborough Bath Spa has joined the exclusive collection of luxury boutique hotels.

The Grade II-listed building, set within the World Heritage Site in Bath, was selected by Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH) for its combination of “exceptional service, outstanding spa facilities, and all-encompassing guest experience”.

The property will now have access to SLH’s global reservation platform, as well as the brand’s sales, marketing and distribution services.

Guests of the 99-room hotel can bathe in the natural thermal waters sourced from the springs below, marking The Gainsborough as the only hotel in Britain with access to this.

Daniel Luddington, vice president of development at SLH, said: “We have selected the property for its unique access to naturally heated spring waters, deep-rooted heritage and sustainable dining concept. The Gainsborough Bath Spa is also a short 90-minute train journey from London, making it the ideal destination to escape the city and enjoy a luxury weekend away.”

Andrew Jordan, executive vice president of YTL Hotels UK, said: “We are delighted to integrate with an organisation as prestigious as Small Luxury Hotels of the World. We offer a highly luxurious wellness and gourmet experience for our guests and firmly believe this collaboration will reinforce our standing as one of the finest hotels in Britain and the world.”
