UK: A new boutique hotel in Royal William Yard is set top open on Easter weekend

Rooms at the Yard, a new boutique hotel under construction in Plymouth's Royal William Yard, will open on Easter weekend according to its owners.

Though some issues with the historic building have cased delays in the construction process, co-founder of Bistrot Pierre, Robert Beacham, told The Herald newspaper that the projected opening was on track for early April.

Bistrot Pierre was founded in 1994 by Beacham and his friend John Whitehead. The duo now own 22 restaurants across Briatin. Rooms at the Yard is their second 'Rooms' venture.

Explaining the concept, Beacham said: "You come and check in at the restaurant, as you would in a hotel, but you will be pointed to seat in the bar and a member of staff will come across with an iPad to check you in and give you your key. They are non-service rooms, but with very comfortable beds, powerful showers, big televisions and good Wi-Fi. It is a beautiful building and the rooms are simply beautiful, but built on a budget, which is what dictates the room rate. They are what you need if you are a traveller, and I'm a traveller myself as business takes me across the country."
