Scotland: The Red Carnation Hotels Collection has announced plans to open a "highly exclusive" hotel in Edinburgh, 2020.

With panoramic views of Edinburgh Castle, the renovation of 100 Princes Street will be undertaken by the award-winning hotel company behind the restoration of Ashford Castle in Ireland.

Its transformation will embrace the city's cultural heritage, relying on the finest local artisans and suppliers to achieve the company's vision of authentic and meaningful experiences.

Aiming to replicate the boutique atmosphere of Forbes five-star property, Hotel 41, The Red Carnation Hotels Collection intend to make their 19th property "the number one hotel in Edinburgh."

Jonathan Raggett, managing director of Red Carnation Hotels, said: "Guests at 100 Princes Street will enjoy everything that makes Red Carnation so special; from our individually designed interiors, to the signature dishes of our president and founder, Beatrice Tollman."

"It has been a dream of ours to open a hotel in Edinburgh for some time, and with the best address in the city, it was well worth the wait," Raggett added.
