UK: Landlord Cadogan has teamed up with Beaverbrook to open the latter’s first London property as part of a £25 million restoration of two Georgian townhouses.

The townhouses, located on Sloane Street, will be transformed into a 14-suite luxury property and will include a 60-cover gourmet Japanese restaurant and bar.

The suites will be designed by Nicola Harding, who is behind the interiors at the soon-to-launch The Mitre in Hampton Court.

The Beaverbrook townhouse is scheduled to open in summer 2021 and will serve as a city-based extension to the Beaverbrook Hotel & Spa in Surrey, which opened in August 2017.

Hugh Seaborn, chief executive at Cadogan, said: “We are delighted to be working in partnership with Beaverbrook, having selected them to operate this exciting hospitality opportunity on Sloane Street. We are convinced that they share our enthusiasm for creating a truly exceptional destination on this internationally famous street, known as one of the finest luxury fashion shopping streets in the world.”

Joel Cadbury, cofounder of Beaverbrook, commented: “We are very proud of what we have created with Beaverbrook and we are incredibly excited about the next stage of our adventure. The brands that we partner with are aspirational and industry-leading and this partnership encapsulates that philosophy.”

Ollie Vigors, cofounder of Beaverbrook, added: “Luxury hospitality has been transformed in recent years and travellers now seek a more bespoke, personal experience that prioritises wellbeing and offers exceptional, tailored service. Despite the current, exceptional pressures on the industry, there will be opportunities for creative luxury businesses to emerge stronger from this period and I am delighted that we are able to create 55 jobs with such an amazing partnership.”

The partnership marks the fourth of its kind for Cadogan and Beaverbrook, alongside 11 Cadogan Gardens (part of the Iconic Luxury Hotel collection) and Belmond Cadogan Hotel.
