UK: Axcel Hospitality has begun construction work on a new Edinburgh property

Axcel Hospitality has announced that work has begun to convert a building in Edinburgh city centre into a boutique hotel.

Ogilvie Construction has broken ground on the £18m project to construct a four-star boutique hotel in Edinburgh's West End. The 150-bedroom hotel is being built for Axcel Hospitality.

The hotel will feature a restaurant, bar and leisure facilities. The project is due for completion in early 2020. The property will be built to eight storeys with a natural stone exterior.

Donald MacDonald, managing director of Ogilvie Construction, said: "We are delighted to have been awarded this contract and look forward to delivering a high quality building. Our team has an extensive and successful track record in the hotel and leisure sector and will work closely with the client throughout the project to ensure that the hotel meets every need of future guests."
