UK: Autograph Collection Short Film Award will be judged by esteemed panel

A high profile panel will judge Autograph Collection Hotels' inaugural short film award and scholarship.

The panel includes some of the most respected names in independent film, including British actress Laura Carmichael; Fantastic Beasts star Alison Sudol; British film director Malcolm Venville; and the academy award-winning screenwriter of Slumdog Millionaire Simon Beaufoy.

The award was created in partnership with the National Film and Television School (NFTS). The winner will receive a grant to make the film, as well as accommodation at an Autograph Collection hotel in the UK during film production. The winner's work will be showcased at an exclusive screening and discussion in early 2018.

John Licence, vice president of premium and select brands, Europe, said: "We are thrilled to have these esteemed industry professionals enrich our programme and lend their expertise as judges on this inaugural award. Through this programme we hope to help young filmmakers flourish in their careers as well as create lasting impressions for our guests by showcasing independent film that is both visionary and beautifully crafted."
