Aloft Hotels opens second site in Jakarta

Indonesia: The 170-room Aloft Jakarta TB Simatupang is the second branded Aloft property under Marriott International to open in the capital.

Aloft is a design-led hotel brand part of the Marriott family, with 140 hotels worldwide.

The latest opening, Aloft Jakarta TB Simatupang, features a Re:mix lounge with a selection of Niio Art – a digitalised moving art collection.

Several dining options are available: the brand’s signature W XYZ bar serves cocktails and is known for hosting live music sessions by upcoming artists; the all-day-dining restaurant Fraya; and the rooftop Southside Rooftop Bar & Lounge.

Additional facilities include a 24/7 Re:charge fitness centre, eight Tactic meeting rooms, a ballroom Space, as well as a kids club Camp Aloft.

General manager, Joan Mamahit, commented: “We are excited to turn up the volume in South Jakarta, bringing the brand’s different by design approach with a very distinct hospitality experience to the neighbourhood. Aside from being home to many multi-national companies’ representatives, this particular area is a vibrant lifestyle destination, filled with out-of-work hang out spots. We’ll be the place for self-expressing guests who aim for big things in life without losing their unique characteristics.”

Ramesh Jackson, market vice president for Indonesia at Marriott International, added: “In today’s challenging business climate, we are excited to open the doors and welcome guests to the millennial focused Aloft TB Simatupang. With an indication that millennials will be the first to lead the way in traveling again, the opening of Aloft Simatupang is an ideal addition to Jakarta’s vibrant and diverse melting pot of culture.”

Aloft Hotels is set to open 16 properties in 2021, adding 2,122 keys to the portfolio. In 2022 another nine hotels will launch, while two more projects are in the works for 2023 and 13 are earmarked for 2024 and beyond.
