UK: Boutique hotel operator Alexander Hotels has acquired Barnett Hill Venue in Guildford, Surrey.

Originally owned and managed as a conference facility, the property will now undergo a major renovation of all bedrooms and public areas.

The property currently features 19 conference suites, 58 bedrooms and two private garden lodges. It will remain fully functional while renovations take place.

Tim Hall will stay on as general manager, with director of operations, Ian Heath, overseeing the renovation.

Owners Peter and Deborah Hinchcliffe, said: "We have recently celebrated 21 years of Alexander Hotels and our passion for our properties and the industry continues to grow. The moment we first saw Barnett Hill, we knew this property would work for us, it showcases considerable potential to be an award winning, iconic hotel in Surrey and the UK and we are truly delighted to start a new journey with this property."

Alexander Hotels operates three other properties: Alexander House Hotel in Sussex; Langshott Manor in Surrey, and Rowhill Grange Hotel in Kent.
