Worldwide: Global hotel brand Nobu, a collaboration between Chef Nobu Matsuhita, actor Robert DeNiro and Meir Teper has announced eight properties in its 2020 pipeline.

The group hopes to continue its expansion, while maintaining its design centred luxury identity.

The first announced opening is in the brand's Warsaw branch, which will occupy a new building in downtown Warsaw on the 75th anniversary of the second world war. The building, a collaboration between polish firm Medusa Group and California based Studio PCH, will take design cues from the building it is replacing, the original hotel Rialto.

The chain is also opening a pair of offerings in the US, in Palo Alto and Chicago respectively. Both are on the smaller end, with under 120 rooms in both, but offer unique features to each area, with tech centred design to mirror Silicon Valley, and a sleek, modernist design to supplement Chicago's urban history.

Nobu's hotel Portman Square has already found a general manager, with news breaking that Grant Campbell will take over the role. The hotel seeks to place Japanese minimalist design principles, core to the hotel's brand, in the midst of London's busy theatre district.

The group's fifth opening will be in the Saudi capital of Riyadh, placed inside a sleek 23 story Skyscraper. It fuses Arabian and Japanese architectural styles, while also providing unique cultural fusion through the kingdom's first Nobu restaurant.

These eight developments will bring Nobu Hotels' total property count to 18 worldwide. Some of the hotel's other proeprties include offerings in Mexico and Barcelona.
