UK: The Leicester-based firm has been awarded a multi-million-pound contract to work on the world’s first ‘super boutique’ hotel in London.

Awarded by Edwardian Hotels London, the contract marks EE Smith's biggest in its 123-year history.

The £300 million development will see specialist bespoke joinery, metalwork, doors, wall panelling and bathroom fit-outs by EE Smith throughout the 16-storey building.

Neil Bottrill, managing director at EE Smith, said: "This is a milestone project for EE Smith and we are very excited to work on such a large-scale development in the heart of London's West End."

"With cutting edge design by Yabu Pushelberg combined with Woods Bagot quality architecture, the interiors are beautifully unique, making us even more thrilled to be part of this iconic project. Our design development and production team are essential to the success of the manufacture of the unusual, cutting-edge concepts across the building, and we are now working around the clock to bring this innovative and diverse space to life," Bottrill added.

EE Smith Contracts Ltd has worked on several other top London hotels, including Grosvenor House, The Langham and The Savoy. Currently, it is also working on the full interior fit out of 15 apartments, offices and retail space in Knightsbridge.

Located in Leicester Square, The Londoner will feature 350 guest rooms including 35 suites, a variety of restaurants and lounges, a spa, two-screen cinema, and a 1000-capacity ballroom.
