Kimpton opens first Asian property

Taiwan: IHG has opened its first Kimpton property in Asia, the Kimpton Da An Hotel in Taipei.

Located in the heart of Taipei City, the 126-room hotel is designed by Neri & Hu, the winner of M&O Asia in 2015, its first hotel design project in Taiwan.

The interior features "lush greenery and sophisticated water feature, coupled with custom lighting strategically placed within the double-height space, immediately transport guests to a world away".

"Based on Tourism Bureau statistics, Taiwan welcomed a record 1.101 million foreign visitors in April, up 24.72 per cent from a year earlier and the first time the number has exceeded one million," said Matthew Lim, general manager of Kimpton Da An Taipei. "With our central location in the heart of Taipei, known as the 'East District,' our hotel is an attractive choice for visitors. The area encapsulates the wealthy, indie, local, modern and home to colourful night markets, upscale shopping areas. Therefore, we provide exclusive packages to welcome both local and international travellers."
