FR: French hospitality group, Evok Hotels, has opened its third property, Sinner, in Le Marais, Paris.

The 43-room boutique hotel was designed by French architect, Tristan Auer, and features a destination spa, restaurant, and bar.

Located at 116 rue du Temple, Sinner is close to many historic monuments such as the Notre Dame, The City Hall, and Pompidou Centre.

"We chose Le Marais because it's a district in constant evolution and very central in Paris," said Emmanuel Sauvage, co-founder of Evok. "There aren't many luxury offerings in hospitality in the neighbourhood. The Samaritaine, a famous shopping centre, will be opening soon, and there are a lot of things to see and discover. It's for a new type of traveller who is curious and attentive to details."

Design details include red guest room doors with knockers and peepholes, and a candlelit crypt across from the reception desk which houses a cabinet of curiosities.

"Sinner is a world of contrasts and sums up what makes Paris special in the eyes of the whole world: that little something special in its architecture, its living heritage, with a touch of whimsy and quirky elegance," Sauvage added.

The all-day restaurant offers menus inspired by North African and South American street food. Similarly, the cocktail bar plays on these regional flavours and stocks spirits sourced from small distilleries.

The hotel's spa, Albutio, features an indoor pool inspired by Greek and Roman baths, and offers treatments using organic and vegan products.

The property plans to launch more partnerships via cultural events in order to incorporate local art and business into the hotel.
