UK: The capital's first whisky hotel is set to open this summer in Hoxton, London.

Black Rock, a whisky bar on Christopher Street, Hoxton, is to expand its offerings into accommodation with the launch of three hotel bedrooms this summer.

Renovating the second and third floors above the bar, the rooms will be "minimalist but luxurious" and will include one large suite with two smaller lodgings.

Later in the summer, Black Rock will also open a blending room to host tasting experiences. Here, guests can blend their own bottle of whisky before taking it home with them.

The Black Rock Tavern, a casual alternative to the award-winning original bar, opened just last week. It serves five beers on tap alongside an extensive library of 40-50 whiskies - all set within a Japanese-inspired décor.
