Middle-east: Located in the capital city of Manama, the 160-room boutique hotel by Mama Shelter is said to open late 2019.

Mama Bahrain will be the brand's 13th property, and will be the first build of the collection to face the sea.

Benjamin El Doghaïli, head of Mama's design studio, explained: "The design has been thought out in two ways. Firstly, the relationship with the sea as it is a waterfront hotel with a marvellous rooftop bar and pool. The second is to propose a lifestyle experience which refers to the nomadic aesthetic and the hospitality from the inner part of the region."

Guests can enjoy homemade food at the hotel's all-day restaurant that features a brick oven pizzeria.

Other dining spots include cocktail bars and a speciality coffee shop, catered by the award-winning Terres de Café.

A state-of-the-art mini sports club completes the experience, and for business meetings, there will be several ateliers equipped with the latest technologies.

Bedroom interiors will be simple in style, focusing on king-size beds and luxury fabrics. Each room will be complemented by films and WiFI, as well as organic products from the Mama Skin range, designed in partnership with French skincare brand Absolution.

The company's chairman, Serge Trigano, said: "When we visited Bahrain for the first time, we found men and women who were open to the cultures of other people and who were tremendously excited at the prospect of welcoming the Mama experience to the city."

Mama's CEO, Jérémie Trigano, added: "We also discovered a modern, forward-thinking partner - GFH properties - brought to us by the Accor teams. The chemistry was there and we therefore decided to bring the Mama magic to the country."
