US: Hotel management, development and marketing company, Innisfree Hotels, has completed its renovation of The Mercantile Hotel in New Orleans' arts/ warehouse district.

The renovations have enhanced the lobby, adding a craft cocktail bar, rotating art gallery, social area for networking and relaxing, updated business centre and a gift shop. Additionally, the unique, all-suites boutique hotel has been repainted and touch points have been updated throughout the rooms while maintaining its historic charm.

Innisfree Hotels CEO and president, Ted Ent, said: "When we bought The Mercantile Hotel, we quickly realised we had something special. The building itself, formerly the site of The Henderson Sugar Refinery, is a very historic structure, and, after our full renovation, we are the only all-suites boutique hotel in the market."

Ent said he believes the changes to the hotel will entice visitors of all types.

He added: "We designed and renovated the hotel to attract a wide array of customers. Our proximity to the convention centre makes it an ideal choice for people who are looking for an authentic, unique experience in New Orleans during both business and leisure travel."

The Mercantile Hotel has also adopted hospitality technology in the form of an AI butler named "Suga", that is capable of delivering refreshments, snacks and towels directly to the guests' rooms. The hotel says that this amenity is not offered elsewhere in the New Orleans area, while each suite has been outfitted with Angie Hospitality, a voice activated in-room assistant.

The Mercantile Hotel general manager Valarie Coston said: "Angie not only serves as a 24-hour extension of our staff but also automates many manual tasks, freeing time to focus on our most valuable guest interactions.

"For such a robust and advanced technology upgrade, we were also pleasantly surprised by Angie's simple 'plug and play' installation, allowing us to immediately enhance our guest services, improve response times and maximise efficiency," she added.

The Mercantile Hotel features 90 suites with the following amenities:

•            Spacious suites
