US: Halcyon, a hotel in Cherry Creek, Colorado, has announced the appointment of Jason Delcamp as general manager of the 154-room hotel.

Delcamp will be responsible for the overall operations, performance and strategic direction while leading Halcyon into a new chapter with hotel operator Makeready.

Delcamp said: "I am thrilled to be granted the opportunity to be the hotel's general manager. Halcyon was the first luxury boutique hotel in Cherry Creek, and I feel especially connected to it, having worked here since before its opening. I will be working hard to achieve even higher levels of personal service, delivering our guests the kind of hotel experience that only Halcyon can offer to truly take care of and connect with each guest in a meaningful way."

Prior to his appointment to general manager Delcamp served as Halcyon's director of operations since 2016. His career in hospitality encompasses additional management roles at The Westin Westminster and Kachina Southwestern Grill as well as the position of food & beverage manager at Thorncreek Golf Club. During his time at Halcyon, Delcamp has been recognised as Colorado Hotel and Lodging 2018 Manager of the Year and helped gain recognition as Condé Nast Traveler's #2 hotel in Colorado in 2017.

"We love working with independent hotels and restaurants that have a soul. We deliver a one of one experience that becomes part of the fabric of the people within the community and neighbourhood we are part of," said Christine Magrann, Makeready COO. "We believe Jason naturally aligns with our commitment to true hospitality while creating special experiences for the local and travelling guests who choose Halcyon."

Delcamp holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel Administration from Metropolitan State College of Denver, in addition to becoming a graduate of Starwood Rooms & Food and Beverage University; he also possesses a Level 1-Introductory Sommelier certification from the Court of Master Sommeliers. Delcamp's philosophy in business is collaborative and spirited as he believes, "the role of a creative leader is not to have all the ideas; it is to create a culture where everyone can have ideas and feel that they're valued."
