US: Nobu Matsuhisa, Robert De Niro, and Meir Teper - co-founders of Nobu Hospitality - celebrated the official launch of their latest project with a signature sake ceremony.

Following the grand cutting of ribbon, guests took part in a traditional sake ceremony with entertainment from Japanese Taiko drummers.

Nobu Hotel Los Cabos is the group's first hotel in Mexico, at the bottom of the Baja Peninsula. It houses four pools, private cabanas, an Esencia Wellness Spa, and a Malibu Farm and Nobu restaurant.

The hotel, which comprises 200 rooms and suites, is located inside the world-class complex Diamante with golf courses designed by Tiger Woods and Davis Love III.

Monica Cuervo and Mark Yoshizaki of WATG were the lead architects, and the room interiors were handled by Severine Tatangelo of Studio PCH.

"It's our first hotel in Latin America and Mexico and it's a very exciting time for us," said Trevor Horwell, CEO of Nobu Hospitality Group. "Today everybody knows what the Nobu brand is. We started the company 75 years ago and we've grown to a copy that now has the restaurants, as well as 19 more hotels currently in the pipeline. It's amazing what we've accomplished as a company - I'm not sure anyone has been able to build what we have on the foundations of what started as a very exciting food and beverage experience".

Upcoming Nobu locations include Chicago, Tel Aviv, Atlanta, Riyadh, Sao Paulo, Toronto and Warsaw.
