US: The reality TV stars have announced they will be developing a property in Waco, Texas, set to open in 2021.

Chip and Joanna Gaines, from the American reality TV show Fixer Upper, will begin renovations on a historic building - the Grand Karem Shrine - in downtown Waco this fall.

They already own bed and breakfast, Magnolia House in McGregor, Texas.

The new hotel will be close to the Magnolia Market at the Silos - the Gaines' shopping complex that features their bakery, café, retail space and more.

Writing on the Magnolia blog, Joanna Gaines commented: "When we first toured the nearly one-hundred-year-old building - which is nearly 53,000 square feet! - we were amazed by the unique architecture and how much of it was still intact. Instantly, we knew we wanted to be part of making this place sing again."

The couple will work alongside Ben Weprin of Adventurous Journeys - the group behind Soho House Chicago and Chicago Athletic Association, among other hotels.

Updates on the property's progress will be posted on the Magnolia blog.
