Scotland: Whispering Pine Lodge is the third of recent openings for Black Sheep Hotels.

The group is a collection of Highland country hotels, and the latest opening of Whispering Pine Lodge (formerly Letterfinlay Lodge at Spean Bridge) closely follows that of The Cluanie Inn at Glenmoriston and Rokeby Manor (formerly Craigard Guest House) at Invergarry.

Owner, Sanjay Narang, purchased the properties in 2018 under Mars Enterprise and Hospitality. £3 million was initially invested, with a further £9 million going towards refurbishment.

Whispering Pine Lodge now features 25 en-suite bedrooms overlooking the Highland landscape or Loch Lochy.

It was originally a hunting lodge built in the 1800's before being transformed into a hotel in the mid-1900's. Celebrity visitors include Hollywood's Burt Lancaster during the filming of Local Hero and Stéphane Grappelli, a French musician referred to as the grandfather of jazz violinists.

The Lochside Brasserie is open to the public as well as residents, serving locally sourced fresh fish, seafood, and classic regional dishes. The Burns Bar, which offers a wide range of Scottish whisky, pays homage to Robert Burns - a Scottish poet and lyricist.

Other offerings of the hotel include gorge walking and white-water rafting, as well an onsite Sleeping Beauty Salon that has two treatment rooms, a nail bar and pedicure area.

Situated close to the hotel are the Whispering Pine cottages, comprising three-bedrooms, a fully fitted kitchen, dining and living area, with a gas fireplace and a private patio.

Narang commented: "The opening marks our hat-trick of Highland hotels, following the opening of Rokeby Manor and Cluanie Inn earlier this year. We have brought together our considerable experience and expertise in the hospitality sector in order to ensure that each of these hotels has their own unique style, perfectly located to explore the Highlands."
