Giulio D’Alberto appointed general manager of Phum Baitang in Cambodia

Cambodia: Zannier Hotels has announced the appointment of Giulio D’Alberto as general manager of Phum Baitang, its hotel in Siem Reap, Cambodia.

Giulio D'Alberto joins after the hotel, which opened in late 2015, received a Trip Advisor Travellers' Choice 2019 Award in the Top 25 Luxury Hotels in the World category.

With over 30 years' experience in the hospitality industry, D'Alberto has gained a wealth of experience and developed extensive business acumen working across various departments including management, F&B, front office, reservations and sales & marketing.

Most recently, D'Alberto held the position of general manager at The Chedi Mumbai where he was responsible for leading all pre-opening activities; hiring, developing and training staff; implementing and monitoring departmental budgets and strategic market planning. He also oversaw the launch of a Japanese restaurant managed by Hide & Yamamoto.

Previous senior managerial roles held by D'Alberto include being general manager of various GHM Hotels' in Suzhou, Andermatt and Bali, launching multiple Five-Star properties in China, Switzerland and Indonesia and coordinating hotel development in Europe, and as general manager of The Chedi Milan where he was directly responsible for reversing revenue losses to achieve a 12% profit margin within two years.

D'Alberto holds a diploma in Hotel Management from PSSAR Vespucci in Milan, in his native Italy, and a Doctorate in Economics, majoring in Hotel Management, from the University of Northwest in Brooklyn, New York.  

D'Alberto replaces Colin Bryant, who has left Phum Baitang for retirement after three years managing the hotel.
