Vietnam: Austria’s independent hotel chain Vienna House has announced plans to expand in south-east Asia, with the opening of a new five-star Vietnam hotel.

The beachside hotel Vienna House Vung Tau, set to open in 2021, will feature 775 rooms, suites, penthouses and villas.

The new luxury hotel will be Vienna House's first project in the Asian market. Vienna House Vung Tau will be built at the beach in Long Hai.

The hotel will feature floodlit tennis courts, fully-equipped gym and sports bar, a pool complex with a Japanese-style onsen, restaurant, fresh seafood market, café, tea room and 530 sqm ballroom.

Rupert Simoner, CEO Vienna House, said: "Vietnam's tourism has been gaining in importance in recent years. We are proud to be taking the first step into the Asian market. Vienna House Vung Tau is a milestone within our Asia expansion strategy. Further projects in Thailand and Indonesia will be announced soon."

The hotel in Long Hai will be managed by Vienna House and is owned by Vietnamese property developer Phuc Dat Company Limited.
