US: A new hotel, located across the street from Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hall, is coming to Oakland.

Dubbed "The Oaklander," this new hotel will represent Pittsburgh in more ways than a name and panoramic views of the city.

The Oaklander is a part of the Autograph Collection by Marriott, a boutique hotel venture that aims to give guests thoughtful and unique experiences that encapsulate the city in which they are located.

The hotel is currently accepting reservations beginning March 2019. They are also accepting bookings for special events and corporate meetings held on the 10th floor of the building.

The Oaklander will be home to Spirits and Tales restaurant. Chef Jessica Lewis will be taking up the helm as executive chef of the 80-seat restaurant. Lewis will bring her vegetable-forward, sustainable cooking knowledge to the space.

Lewis said: "Small plates, and a good amount of attention will be focused on vegetables and seafood."

Both the restaurant and hotel plan to open in early 2019.
