Budget boutique hotel brand Point A Hotels, which owns seven UK properties, has welcomed its 500,000th guest just 18 months after the brand’s launch.

The milestone was reached at Point A London King's Cross-St Pancras as a leisure traveller and first-time guest of Point A Hotels checked in on a visit from Ireland with her partner.

The guest, who made a direct booking through PointAHotels.com, received a VIP welcome with a bottle of champagne handed to them on arrival and chocolates were sent to their room. From there, they could take in the views of London tourist attractions including St Paul's Cathedral and the Shard.

In addition, the boutique hotel's General Manager, Victor Viseho, sent the couple a personalised message and gave them vouchers for dinner for two at King's Cross' German Gymnasium, one of the new restaurant partners Point A Hotels' A List loyalty programme.

Point A London King's Cross-St Pancras marked the celebratory occasion as hotel managers invited its guests down to its newly refurbished lobby lounge for a slice of cake.

Managing Director Nic Wenn said: "We are extremely proud to have reached the landmark milestone having 500,000 guests ahead of schedule and just 18 months after rebranding to Point A. This is testament to our aggressive growth and brand strategy and to our teams who have hosted every one of those guests with kindness and professionalism.

"With completion of the room renovations at London Liverpool Street and our eighth and ninth hotels opening in Edinburgh and London Kensington in the first half of next year, we are on track to welcome our one-millionth visitor to Point A in 2019."

Point A Hotels' 500,000th guest checked in on 20 September.
