UK: Ellenborough Park, a country house hotel in Cheltenham, has named Marwan Hemchaoui as its new general manager.

Hemchaoui joins from The Vineyard at Stockross, near Newbury, and has more than 25 years hotel experience.

After graduating from hotel school in Switzerland, Hemchaoui began his career in London, where he went on to work at The Intercontinental, JW Marriott, Grosvenor House and The Dorchester.

He replaces Oliver Williams who left Ellenborough Park in May after two years for a new role in Ireland.

Hemchaoui said: "I'm delighted to be joining Ellenborough Park at such an exciting time, and so look forward to being part of the community in Cheltenham. The team here is wonderfully passionate, enthusiastic and full of exciting ideas, and I'm so pleased to be working alongside them and taking such historically-rich hotel to new heights."
