Australia: IHG, in partnership with Primefield Property Pty Ltd, will open Hotel Indigo Adelaide Markets set to open in 2020.

The 16-storey boutique hotel on Market Street, which will shortly begin construction, will be the first Hotel Indigo in Adelaide and the sixth signing for the brand in Australasia, following Hotel Indigo Brisbane Fortitude Valley, Melbourne Docklands, Sydney Central, Melbourne Little Collins Street and Auckland.

Hotel Indigo Adelaide Markets will draw on the nearby Adelaide Central Market for its architectural and interior design. It will feature 137 rooms, meeting spaces, gym and a level four pool with sun deck.

Abhijay Sandilya, IHG's senior director of development - Australasia, said: "Australia loves the Adelaide Central Markets, and for good reason. It's a local destination that has developed its own distinct identity and culture, so we know that visitors will love a hotel that can capture that essence and deliver a unique experience. That's why we're thrilled to announce the signing of Hotel Indigo Adelaide Markets, an upper-upscale accommodation for the inspired traveller. Hotel Indigo will complement IHG's existing Holiday Inn Express, InterContinental and soon-to-open Crowne Plaza, giving travellers options to cater to every stay."
