Stirlingshire’s Royal Hotel on the market for £2.5 million

UK: The Royal Hotel in Bridge of Allan is on the market though Christie & Co.

The three-storey Victorian property features 34 en suite guest bedrooms, extensive and flexible banqueting facilities, and a restaurant and bar. Sitting on a plot of more than two acres, the hotel provides customer car parking for over 50 vehicles and has development potential to add a further 26 guest en suite bedrooms, front dining terrace and leisure facilities, subject to planning permission.

The hotel has undergone a significant refurbishment and upgrading programme which was completed in Autumn 2017. The centrepiece of the renovation project was the reconfiguration of the reception area on the ground floor and the creation of The Fifty Five Bar & Grill, an expansive open plan bar and restaurant with luminous glass frontage, leading to a large wrap-around outside terrace, providing additional dining capacity. In addition, the ballroom and the two flexible function spaces on the first floor were completely refurbished and upgraded.

Stuart Drysdale, director at Christie & Co's Glasgow office, said: "The Royal Hotel is an institution within the town and with its significant refurbishment, we expect a high level of demand for the hotel, from local Bridge of Allan entrepreneurs as well as Scottish and international hotel investors."

Christie & Co is seeking offers in excess of £2,500,000 for the freehold interest of the Royal Hotel.
