Frye joins Washington School House Hotel as executive chef

US: The Washington School House Hotel, a boutique property in park City, Utah, has appointed Ryan Frye as executive chef.

Frye started his career as a pastry chef. Originally from Memphis, he moved to Utah in 2012 to pursue his culinary career at SLCC Culinary Institute where he graduated at the top of his class and completed both the Culinary Arts and Pastry Arts degrees. With more than six years of industry experience, Frye has helmed the kitchens of Salt Lake City's Avenues Proper Restaurant, Proper Burger Co. and Proper Emporium/Brewery holding roles as lead line chef and head pastry chef.

"We look forward to Chef Frye's fresh perspective on the menus which will incorporate the use of seasonal, local produce from farms across Park City and the surrounding area," said general manager Andrea Clemons. "His innovative nature, combined with his engaging spirit are the perfect fit for Washington School House."

Frye plans on updating the breakfast and private dining menus, as well as adding a new elevated children's dining menu. Having a passion for experimenting with bold flavours and balancing sweet and spicy cuisine, Frye looks forward to incorporating those flavours into Washington School House's signature menu.

As executive chef of Washington School House Hotel, Frye is responsible for the entirety of the hotel's culinary efforts.
