US: Local developer Adam Leibowitz is planning to develop East Nashville’s first boutique hotel.

Called Holiday Jones and located at 805 Main St, the five-storey hotel will feature 64 rooms, 12 on-site parking spaces and a roof-top deck.

Leibowitz is teaming up with Chicago-based Robert Baum on the project and will present his plans to Metro Development and Housing Agency Design Review Committee. The site sits within MDHA's East Bank Redevelopment District and requires the committee's approval of exterior design and functionality.

"We are extremely excited to bring Holiday Jones to East Nashville," said Leibowitz, who owns the property via MG Street Holdings LLC. "The neighbourhood continues to transform and allow for creative development such as this hotel. East Nashville is a destination for many tourists that visit Nashville and they will now have a place to stay."

Nashville-based Smith Gee Studio will design Holiday Jones.

"Along with our design team, we have met with MDHA and other agencies to discuss the plan and get feedback on initial design elements," he said. "The feedback has been very constructive and helped us shape the current plan," said Leibowitz.

The partners hope to break ground on the hotel building in mid-2016. A 14-month construction timetable is expected.

"As a boutique developer, the teams I work with enjoy the challenge of creating projects that are distinctive to specific urban areas of the city," Leibowitz said. "Robby and I feel Holiday Jones will fit that definition."
