Malta: Hotelogique founders and directors Jan Karl Farrugia and Frankie Spiteri have launched their latest venture, the Quaint chain of properties in Gozo.

Founded in 2013 by the pair, Hotelogique was born "out of the gradual growth of the boutique hotel business and, as such, has proven to be an ideal solution for those who have the means to enter this business but lack the know-how as to managing it".

"Entering this industry, however, is not only about investing in the property. It is about managing the property, making it work, promoting it and generating business out of it. This is where Hotelogique comes in and where we are gaining priceless experience and know-how about this interesting sector," said Farrugia.

"The boutique hotel industry is still in its infancy but it is already showing what a diverse and interesting sector it is. The potential for growth is there, we are feeling it on a daily basis," he added.

Quaint Boutique Hotels will consist of a chain of village properties in Gozo. The first of these properties will be located in Nadur. The other three will be in Għajnsielem, Xewkija and Sannat.

Spiteri said: "Through the operation of the Quaint brand, we are understanding more how the Gozitan market operates and how diverse the island is. For many years, people in the tourism industry have been saying that Gozo is a special destination. The island demands a totally different strategy when promoting it for tourism purposes. Gozo calls for the authentic to be respected and experienced and this will be the new brand's main strength."
