UK: The team behind the Watergate Bay hotel in Newquay, Cornwall, has bought the 19-room Rampsbeck hotel in Cumbria for £2.7 million.

The Rampsbeck will be the first property for Another Place, a new collection of destination properties. Another Place will be independent of Watergate Bay, but will follow "a similar distinct approach to hospitality, focused on creating experiences for guests".

Set in 18 acres of grounds overlooking Lake Ullswater, Rampsbeck will be joined in the collection by the Royal William Yard, a 60-bedroom hotel under development in Plymouth.

Ramsbeck, which dates back to 1714, will see the addition of a 25-metre indoor pool, clubhouse and treatment rooms.

Will Ashworth, founder of Another Place and managing director of Watergate Bay hotel, said: "Rampsbeck is the perfect hotel to kick off our new collection. There is a strong team and excellent reputation already in place and, ahead of developing plans for additional bedrooms and social spaces, we are looking forward to introducing a few of our own ideas. We intend to appeal to both current and new visitors, always staying true to the spirit of Ullswater."

Ashworth is currently is currently looking at several locations for further Another Place properties.
