US: Ennismore Capital is to bring its Hoxton Hotels brand to the US, with a New York property opening in 2016.

US: Ennismore Capital is to bring its Hoxton Hotels brand to the US, with a New York property opening in 2016.

The NYC property will be in the Williamsburg neighbourhood of Brooklyn, and will join the brand's London, Amsterdam and forthcoming Paris hotels.

And ow reports in the LA Times say Ennismore has bought a a historic building in downtown Los Angeles for $30 million with plans to convert it to a Hoxton hotel.

"The entry of a niche foreign hotel firm into downtown Los Angeles marks a stark reversal from decades past," the LA Times report said.

"Downtown is thriving and international companies are all taking note," Sara Lo, a senior manager specialising in the hospitality business at Ernst & Young, told the LA Times.

According to Lo, the downtown LA market has an occupancy rate of 77 per cent and from January through September, the average daily room rate downtown was $202, 6.7 per cent higher than during the same period in 2014.
