UK: French architect and designer Jacques Garcia is to design a boutique hotel in Holborn.

UK: French architect and designer Jacques Garcia is to design a boutique hotel in Holborn.

Planning permission has been granted to convert the Grade-II listed former Baptist church in to a boutique hotel. The project will include the construction of four additional storeys and accommodation within the historic rooms.

Called Lifestyle Hotel L'Oscar, the property is due to open in 2016. It will feature 67 bedrooms, bars, a restaurant, spa facilities, gym and conference facilities.

Garcia is best known for his work in Paris, including interiors for Le Méridien hotels, Royal Monceau à Paris,Hôtel Costes, Hotel Majestic, and the Hôtel Odéon Saint Germain.
