Denver-based hotel investment and management company Sage Hospitality has named Frederick J. Kleisner II as area managing director.

Klesner will oversee The Oxford Hotel and the new 112-room Crawford Hotel, an independent hotel opening in Denver's Union Station this July.

A fifth-generation hotelier with 23 years experience, Kleisner opened and spent six years as GM of Portland's award-winning the Nines, a Starwood Luxury Collection Hotel that is also managed by Sage Hospitality.
Sage Hospitality president and CEO Walter Isenberg said: "We are thrilled to have Fred's strong leadership skills as we prepare to open The Crawford this summer. He has exhibited tremendous leadership in all aspects of luxury hotel operations, enabling him to effectively identify traveler needs, understand market trends and formulate innovative changes to maintain and grow market share. He also has a unique understanding of what it takes to open a highly anticipated hotel like The Crawford."
Prior to opening and operating the Nines, Kleisner oversaw the opening of The Empire Hotel, a 413-room property in New York. He also spent six years with Wyndham International, including the management of The Peaks Resort & Golden Door Spa in Telluride and The El San Juan Hotel and Casino in Puerto Rico.
Kleisner holds a Bachelor's of Science in Hotel, Restaurant and Travel Administration from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
Located in the heart of Denver's LoDo district, The Oxford Hotel was featured on Condé Nast Traveler's 2014 Gold List as one of the "511 Best Places on Earth."  The 80-room historic property features 10,000 square feet of newly renovated meeting space, the iconic Cruise Room martini bar, McCormick's Fish House and Bar and the Oxford Club, Spa & Salon.
