Alila adds to Indonesia management team

Indonesia: Alila Hotels & Resorts has announced two new management appointments.

Patrick Murray has joined as general manager for Alila Jakarta, and Siddharth Biswas ties the role of resident manager at Alila Villas Uluwatu.

Murray has more than 30 years experience in the hospitality industry. He started his career with the Intercontinental Hotel in London before going on to work in properties including The Ritz Hotel, The Berkeley, Hyatt Carlton Tower and the Hyde Park Hotel before moving to Australia where he was part of the opening team for the Grand Hyatt in Melbourne.

He also has extensive international experience, having worked in China, Bahrain, Oman, Manila, Kuala Lumpur, Kota Kinabalu, Cambodia, Bali and Boracay. He was also part of the opening teams for the Prince Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, the Legends Hotel on Australia's Gold Coast and Palazzo Versace, the first Versace hotel in the world.

Biswas began his career after graduating from L'Ecole Hoteliere de Lausanne in Switzerland. His first role was with the world's largest catering company Compass Group PLC, before joining Kempinski Hotel's head office. He went on to work at established properties and as part of several pre-opening teams across Europe, South East Asia, Africa, the Middle East and China.
