Italy: IHG is set to debut its Hotel Indigo lifestyle in Italy this month with the opening of Hotel Indigo Rome - St. George.

Located on Via Giulia, the hotel is designed to reflect the local neighbourhood. Hotel Indigo Rome - St. George has 64 bedrooms which combine "Renaissance features with contemporary Italian design, while echoing the artistic charm of the neighbourhood."

Existing architectural elements have been retained, including stone walls, Roman paving, arches and pillars. These have been contrasted with contemporary Italian art, modern mosaic design and custom-made furniture.

The property features a spa with Roman bath, and rooftop bar and restaurant. Guestrooms feature free Wi-Fi, docking stations, bathrobes and slippers, and Egyptian cotton linen.

General manager Paolo Falchi said: "Set in the heart of the city, Hotel Indigo Rome - St. George offers the perfect setting for exploring this historic location and its iconic attractions. We look forward to welcoming guests to the hotel to show them what our enchanting city is all about."

Tom Rowntree, vice president brand management upscale and luxury brands, Europe IHG, said: "Hotel Indigo Rome - St George is the first Hotel Indigo to open in Italy and there are a further 15 in the pipeline in Europe. Rome is an important location for the brand; we are committed to opening in stylish and dynamic neighbourhoods and the surroundings of Hotel Indigo Rome - St George are exactly that."

Hotel Indigo Rome - St. George will operate under a franchise agreement with Hotel Invest Italiana SRL.
