Robinson appointed to drive expansion of Autograph Collection

US: Marriott International has appointed Julius Robinson as vice president for the Autograph Collection, the company’s portfolio of independent hotels.

US: Marriott International has appointed Julius Robinson as vice president for the Autograph Collection, the company's portfolio of independent hotels.

In his role, Robinson will "drive, define and execute global strategy for Autograph Collection. He will also play an integral role in the future development and global growth of the portfolio around the world".

Marriott describes Robinson as "a seasoned hotelier with vast knowledge of revenue management, sales, business development and operations". He brings more than 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry and most recently served as vice president of the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott, a position which he held for over three years.

The Autograph Collection expects to add 11 new hotels to its portfolio by the end of 2014.

The new properties will include the Atlantis, Paradise Island in the Bahamas, Triada Palm Springs (Palm Springs, CA), Metropolitan at the 9 Cleveland (OH), four hotels from The Ambassador Collection including locations in Tulsa, Oklahoma; Kansas City, Missouri; Wichita, Kansas; and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and four Washington state-based hotels who form part of The Davenport Hotel Collection.
