Ireland: Red Carnation Hotels has bought Lisloughrey Lodge, a boutique hotel in Cong, County Mayo.

The property, which was valued at €2.5 million by Savills, has 50 bedrooms and suites, conference and banqueting facilities, treatment rooms and a fitness centre. It is situated close to Ashford Castle, which was bought by Red Carnation in october 2013, and is currently being refurbished.

Niall Rochford, the general manager of Ashford Castle, said: ""We plan to make this into a seamless resort, with guests of the Lodge now coming through the main gates of the Castle." The Lodge will target weddings and family groups, with rates about 40 per cent lower than the castle, he said.
