UK: Signature Living has opened its movie-themed Liverpool hotel on Mathew Street.

The 1884 building was originally used as a tea warehouse but later converted for use as a print works. It was also used as a recording studio for the band OMD in the early 1980s.

The hotel has joins the portfolio of owners Lawrence and Katie Kenwright, who already have serviced apartment properties on Bold Street, Mathew Street and Victoria Street.

Katie Kenwright said: "Signature Living has created a name for itself as being very customer focused, and anyone who visits us can see the standard of accommodation on offer. We added a hotel with a restaurant, bar and nightclub after seeing gaps in the market we could fill, some of our apartments and rooms are booked up until next April and we're seeing a rise in midweek corporate bookings as well."

The launch last week was attended by more than 400 guests who were treated to Laurent perrier cocktails and canapés from the hotel's Sanctum restaurant.
