US: Chapman House Hotel, sister property to The Veranda House, has opened its doors to guests.

The 11-room hotel, in the heart of Old Nantucket Town, is described as having a modern beach-house feel with retro-chic touches. Built in 1717, it is in the grounds of its sister property The Veranda House, a 1684 building set on one of the highest points on the island, with panoramic views of the harbor. The 18-room Veranda House opened in 2006.

The interiors at Chapman House were designed by Boston interior design firm Rachel Reider Interiors of Boston, which has also worked on the Captain Fairfield Inn in Kennebunkport, Maine.

Guests have access to iPod docking stations; afternoon Champagne receptions in the garden of the Veranda House; personalized concierge services and Frette bed linens and duvets.

The hotel offers a daily continental breakfast buffet, including organic yogurt, pastries, bagels, homemade granola, seasonal fruit, and artisanal cheeses, served in the lounge or on the patio.
