Christmas comes early at the Pelham

There was even fake snow falling around the hotel as tequila cocktails, rather than mulled wine, were the order of the day. Our Pelham insider tells us: "Industry professionals, celebrities and fashionistas glimpsed what was on offer this festive season".

GM Inge Jensen said: "Celebrating Christmas in September demanded a less seasonal drink so we asked our good friend Cleo Rocos (pictured left) and mixologist Piyush Chavda to challenge guests with their 'Tequila Experiment' and mix some tasty tequila including one made with white chocolate and chestnut! Superb."

"We turned our popular Bistro Fifteen into a private members bar complete with festive decorations and snow giving a very cosy feel to the occasion. I'm sure people passing by the hotel and looking in through snow-covered windows wondered what was going on. Indeed it had a totally different feel to when The Croatian Olympic Squad took over the entire hotel during London 2012!"

The Christmas scene was completed with a string quartet early in the evening followed by singer/song writer Mark Wright and his interpretation of Christmas Swing!

Pelham head chef Francesco Echler treated guests to a preview of the Christmas dishes he will serve up later in the year, including 'Apple Snow' and 'Margarita Pop Cakes'.

Hotel director Edward Bracken (pictured right) said: "The Pelham with its 51 rooms is a very versatile luxury hotel. We enjoy seeing the hotel, its rooms and its event suites used in such amazing ways and I think we put on the first hangover free Christmas party in London this year thanks to Cleo's AquaRiva tequilas. It just shows you what's possible with a little imagination but lets hope that it's the last snow we see this side of December."

Anyone wishing to try the 'Tequila Experiment' for themselves can pop along to The Pelham - there is a wide range of tequila margaritas to choose from, so be prepared to stay a while.
