US: The Kimpton Solamar Hotel in San Diego has announced the appointment of Devin Mahoney as general manager.

In his new role, Mahoney will be responsible for day-to-day hotel operations, guest relations and business development for the 235-room boutique hotel, including the 14,000 square feet of event space, the famed JSix restaurant and the recently renovated Upper East rooftop bar.

Mahoney comes to Kimpton Solamar Hotel from Kimpton Amara Resort and Spa in Phoenix, where he spent nearly two years as general manager and received Kimpton's Freshman of the Year award for high performance amongst new company general managers. Prior to Kimpton Amara Resort and Spa, he served as assistant general manager at Hotel Palomar, Phoenix.

"Devin's extensive knowledge of the Kimpton brand coupled with his award-winning leadership at the property in Phoenix make him a great asset to Kimpton Solamar," said Kate Connor, director of sales and marketing at Kimpton Solamar Hotel.  "We have big plans for the East Village property in 2018 and look forward to bringing them to life under Devin's leadership."

"Kimpton Solamar has so much to offer vacationers, business travellers, and local San Diegans," said Mahoney. "I am incredibly proud to be a part of the Kimpton family and look forward to becoming an integral part of the community and leading the team to meet new challenges and provide the highest level of service to our guests in 2018."
