UK: Hand Picked Hotels welcomes new general manager to Guernsey Resort

Mark Platt has been appointed as the general manager of St Pierre Park Hotel, Spa and Golf resort in Guernsey, the Channel Islands.

Platt has over 30 years of experience working with global hotel brands in the UK and overseas - including IHG (Intercontinental Hotel Group), Accor and Hilton. Mark joins Hand Picked Hotels from his most recent position as general manager of The Majestic Hotel in Harrogate.

Platt said: "I am delighted to have joined Hand Picked Hotels to lead the team at St Pierre Park, which has the most comprehensive facilities on the island for business, leisure and private functions and a committed and passionate team.  I am looking forward to building upon the success of our newly relaunched and award-winning health club and spa, as well as continuing a comprehensive programme of bedroom upgrades and enhancements to our food and beverage offering to further establish the hotel as the island's premium leisure and business resort."

Hand Picked Hotels' operations director Douglas Waddell, said: "Mark brings to the hotel extensive knowledge of the industry and the Channel Islands market and has a proven track record in driving customer satisfaction and revenue which is key to the role.   As well as supporting further growth in the leisure and wellness market, Mark is focused on expanding the local and residential conference, meetings and private events segment of the business and I'm pleased to welcome him on board."

St Pierre Park is one of three Channel Island properties in the Hand Picked Hotels' portfolio of 20 country house hotel and spa resorts. The hotel has 131 bedrooms, an AA Rosette restaurant The Pavilion, seven flexible function rooms for private and group events and a health club and spa.
